What happens if I'm in an accident?
When you are in an accident, you can be scared or confused. Keep this list of pointers in your glove box so you can be prepared if you get in a car accident.
1. Always call the police
2. Call for an ambulance if necessary
3. Use your camera phone to take pictures of the vehicles involved in the accident and of the accident scene.
4. Don’t talk to the other driver about the accident, but make sure you get his or her telephone number and insurance information.
5. Try to obtain the names and telephone numbers of any witnesses.
6. Tell the police everything that happened.
